No on Measure A was a local grassroots effort to oppose a developers plan to to pass a measure which would have allowed the company to go ahead with development. Davis City Council was asking for citizen approval of the proposed Nishi mixed-use project in the Davis General Municipal Election ballot on June 7th. The Nishi project would have provided 440 multi-family rental units and 210 stacked condos. All residential housing would be 5-6 stories. It would also have contained 325,000 sq ft office and R & D space and 20,000 sq ft of commercial/retail space. Because the project was outside the City limits, however, it required a voter approval under Measure J/R.
I worked closely with the campaign as a canvasser and was offered to help design and layout the campaigns main pamphlet which allowed local residents to digest a large amount of information in an easy to read format.
